The story behind the writing.

I never set out to write a book.

I just started telling the truth.

Truth about grief. About waiting. About what happens when the miracle doesn’t come the way you prayed it would.

Watermelons for Sale started as a memory — me on the side of the road as a little girl, selling watermelons with my family. Back then, I didn’t know it was shaping how I’d see resilience, faith, and the way we show up when life gets hard.

This book is for anyone who's ever been stuck in the in-between — between the diagnosis and the healing, between the loss and the rebuilding, between Friday and Sunday.

It’s not a how-to. It’s a here’s-what-happened. And I hope, somewhere in my story, you find some language for yours.

Because when we face the truth, we make space for other people to breathe.

Watermelons For Sale

Watermelons for Sale is a collection of real, raw reflections from a life that didn’t go according to plan — and the surprising beauty I found in the waiting.
If you’ve ever carried silent grief, wrestled with unanswered prayers, or led while quietly breaking, this book is for you.

My Journal is where I keep writing — the parts that didn’t fit in the pages, the lessons I’m still learning, and the questions I’m still asking. If Watermelons for Sale opened something in you, I hope you’ll join me there.

It’s free. It’s honest. And it’s for anyone still walking through the in-between.

Journal entries will begin this summer, 2025!
